This has to be one of our favourite times of the year. Not only is the snow starting to thaw (finally!) but trade show season is well under way, and the Nexonia team is ready to be a part of the action! We’re kicking off March with one of the most anticipated shows of the season: Microsoft Convergence 2015, in Atlanta, Georgia. Not only will you be able to say “Howdy!” to us in person (we’ll be at booth #1561 in the Convergence Experience Center!), but we’ve also got a handful of tips to ensure that you and your crew have a fun and fruitful time at #CONV15.

1) Make a Solid Plan of Attack

Smaller conferences or trade shows can usually accommodate a more go-with-the-flow approach, and a “Let’s just see what happens when we get there!” attitude definitely has the potential to be fun. But Microsoft Convergence isn’t small potatoes. Last year alone, over 300 unique Microsoft Partners showcased their products, solutions and services and more than 12,000 individuals (including attendees, press, speakers and staff) were in attendance. With hundreds of sessions, keynote presentations, roundtables and offsite events, an unprepared attendee can easily get overwhelmed. Take the time before you leave to truly map out where you want to be, when you want to be there and who you want to talk to. You might not get to cross everything off your list, but at least your trip will have a bigger impact on your company and business relationships.

2) Cram Your Brain with Knowledge

Not only will you be able to learn a lot about the many exhibitors you’ll meet at the Expo, but there are hundreds of educational events and discussions to participate in. Dozens of sessions that Microsoft hosts this year provide insight into their products and access to top experts in Microsoft Dynamics GP, AX and NAV. The Microsoft Dynamics GP User Group (GPUG) will also be hosting a variety of interactive discussions, giving you and your peers a platform to dive deep into the world of Great Plains.

When you’re not learning about new innovations in software development, we also encourage you to participate in more general corporate improvement sessions. The Nexonia team is passionate about offering full training and support to our customers, but even the strongest teams can always find nuggets of knowledge in sessions such as Helping Employees Deliver Amazing Customer Experiences to Drive Service Productivity or Team Collaboration in the Modern Workplace. There’s definitely something for everyone!

3) Find Friends (& Make New Ones!)

Chances are, of the thousands who attend Convergence each year, you’ll likely have a few friends, partners and colleagues who will also be heading to Atlanta. Tradeshows and conferences are a prime opportunity to meet (in person) and shake the hands of the people you’ve been emailing, calling, texting and tweeting. We’re definitely excited to reconnect with our partners (and friends!) at Arxis Technology, CliftonLarsonAllen, InterDyn BMI, Raffa, GraVoc Associates, di-fi Solutions, Corporate Renaissance Group and Frank, Rimerman + Co. LLP. Many of our partners have already been on the ball and sharing invaluable resources about Convergence 2015. We highly recommend checking out InterDyn BMI’s incredibly slick infographic for your ultimate #CONV15 guide!

It goes without saying, but Convergence also provides an incredibly rich opportunity to meet new and interesting people, exchange business ideas and create new connections. Be sure to pack a fresh set of business cards, because the Expo will be a hub of handshakes, scanned badges and information overload!

Also, did we mention we’ll be at booth #1561? :)

4: File Your Expense Reports While on the Flight Home

After a whirlwind week, the last thing you want to worry about is the administrative paperwork that comes with submitting your expenses. Instead of trying to keep tabs of all your expensed meals, hotel, rental car, supplies, etc, using our Expenses mobile app to take photos of your receipts as you go will save you time in the long run. You’ll likely have time to kill in the airport or on your flight home anyway, so you might as well create and submit your expense reports while on the plane (yep, you can do it all while mid-flight – it will sync when you land!).

We hope to see you all there, but if you can’t quite make it to Microsoft Convergence this year, be sure to book a demo of Nexonia Expenses for a time that works for you and your schedule!

See you in Atlanta!
