View History is now available at the expense report listing level

Posted by Neil Wainwright in expense reports

We've always had it for individual entries, but now it's also included at the report listing level and shows all line items and what their history is.

We've just done a few expense UI updates

Posted by Neil Wainwright in expense reports

1. The "Select All / Select None" small icons at the top of the expense report listing and line item listing are now replaced with a single checkbox. Click it once and all rows are selected. Click it twice and all rows are unselected. We feel this is more intuitive.

2. The "Action" icon is gone and is replaced by a underlined "Actions" link. We've made it so that single or double-clicking will do the same thing...open a list of the available actions. We feel this is more intuitive.

3. There is now a second underlined item in each row (report code in the listing of expense reports and date column when an expense report is open), that when single- or double-clicked will open the expense report or line item respectively. This fits a typical web page interaction more closely and should help with new and occasional-use users. Again, we feel this is more intuitive.

Double-clicking still works the same way on the non-underlined areas of a row. We also support a range of keyboard controls (typically the arrow and return keys).

We hope you like these updates. They came from customer suggestions and from our own thoughts on some of the support calls we receive directly. Please keep the suggestions coming!

The Approvals tab is smarter when time and expense are both turned on

Posted by Neil Wainwright in timesheets , expense reports

The approvals tab will now open to the sub-tab that has items to approve. If both time and expense have approvals to do, the expense approvals will be opened first. It's a small adjustment, but it should help by cutting down an extra click that might have happened in the past.

Projects can now be enabled or disabled for each main feature...timesheets, expense reports and/or customer service

When creating new projects this defaults to all for all features, but you can selectively change it. It's under the General tab when editing a project.

Our NetSuite integration just went live!

We now sync configuration data with NetSuite (www.netsuite.com) and do overnight exporting of approved expense reports to NetSuite. It's very good and is all done through web services integration.

Setup > Company > Features > Edit > Prevent adding entries to a report once a payment is issued. Like a lot of our features, this came from a customer request. We completely it within a few days.

iPhone Expenses (corporate and personal) 2.0.3 is released

Posted by Neil Wainwright in expense reports

Version 2.0.3 of our corporate iPhone solution has just been posted to the App Store. It now retains your last-used currency setting within each launch of the application, meaning you don't have to keep choosing the same currency if you're recording expenses for a foreign trip. This idea came from a customer, so please keep them coming to help@nexonia.com.
