We're always adding features to our system and as a customer, you can receive these updates at no extra charge. We will proactively inform you of the updates via our blog, newsletters and press releases. You can then simply turn them on. Overall- In practice, most reproducible defects are resolved prior to the start of the following business day.
- Nexonia is always improving our system, based on our own development plans and also based on customer requests.
Features- Nexonia is always building new features. We deploy them as configurable options for existing client and then notify existing clients of the new feature through our customer administrator newsletter.
- The impact of new features is usually zero to existing customers as these new features are turned off until such time as the existing customers want to use that new feature. Certain exceptions do apply, such as fundamental improvements to our user interface.
- You can simply turn on added features through your Setup screens.
Fixes- Our commitment is to fix any developer-reproducible defects in our system by the start of the second-following business day (with the business day being defined as 9am to 5pm for Eastern Time Zone in North America).
- For example, a defect report at 3pm ET on a Monday would be resolved prior to 9am on Wednesday. In practice, most reproducible defects are resolved prior to the start of the following business day.
- If a defect cannot be reproduced, we’ll work with the customer to investigate it and come up with a test case that can be reproduced.
Time of Day- Nexonia deploys fixes and features together, and this is usually done during the window of 9pm to midnight ET during weekdays and at various times (if required) on weekends. The update procedures take two (2) minutes. As mentioned, we typically do deployments 3-5 times a week.
- In rare cases Nexonia will do midday updates to resolve an important customer-impacting issue. These are very rare.
Notifications- All currently logged-in users are notified via e-mail about the pending update, the update is completed and then a second e-mail is sent after the update to let them know the system is available again.
- For all but a few seconds at the start of the feature deployment, a page on our website explains to the visiting users that the system will be back up in a couple minutes (and also provides phone and e-mail contact details).
Infrastructure Updates- Nexonia schedules all infrastructure updates on weekends and informs all customer administrators about the expected maintenance window (typically 2 hours).
- At most, software infrastructure updates happen two to three times a year. Hardware updates happen approximately every two years.
